Association of Indoor Play

The Association of Indoor Play is the trade association for the indoor play sector in the United Kingdom. It is a not-for-profit organisation representing the voice of the indoor play sector, encompassing indoor play, role play, baby sensory play and farm parks.

The association was formed at the start of the Covid-19 pandemic by a group of seasoned national indoor soft play providers with over 150 years of combined indoor play experience between them with the aim of creating a specific and targeted vehicle to represent the smaller operators in this specialised sector.

The AIP is a member of UK Hospitality, with whom it acts to advise on government legislation for indoor play. It is accredited with the Visit England/Visit Britain “We’re Good to Go” scheme and is also a member of IAPPA, the global association for the attractions industry.

The overriding aims of the IAP are:
*to raise the profile of the benefits of indoor play with the public and government;
*to raise standards and reward excellence within the industry;
*to have a community where operators can discuss issues and access core industry information.

The AIP currently represents a quarter of the indoor play industry operators ranging from single site to multi-site businesses. It also has an active trade membership with vetted partner companies who work alongside the membership base offering support and supply of key industry services and products.
